Sony Creative Software has released a new update for Vegas Pro 12 : v12.0 Build 563 64-bit.
Also with this new update we find several bugfixes, but also improvements such as the support for rendering 24p Panasonic P2 AVC-Intra 100, improved performance decoding XAVC 4k video and improvements to the project interchange with Final Cut Pro X.

Notable fixes/changes in version 12.0 (Build 563)

• Added support for rendering 24p AVC-Intra 100 Panasonic P2 video to a folder on your computer or to a connected P2 camera..
• Improved performance for decoding XAVC 4K video from Sony F5/F55 cameras.
• Added support for exporting event timestretching as velocity when exporting to Final Cut Pro X format.
• Added support for exporting event pan and crop settings as motion when exporting to Final Cut Pro X format. Please note that event zooming, cropping, and scaling are exported as separate operations.
  • To export event zoom, the Event Pan/Crop Maintain aspect ratio control must be set to No, and Stretch to fill frame must be set to Yes.
  • To export event crop, the Event Pan/Crop Stretch to fill frame control must be set to No.
  • To export event rotation, the Event Pan/Crop Stretch to fill frame control must be set to Yes.
• Added support for importing event pan and crop settings when importing a Final Cut Pro X format.
• Timecode for MOV files is now read properly and displayed in Vegas Pro media properties.

• Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when using Tools > Selectively Prerender Video.
• Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when browsing in the Vegas Explorer when the Documents library was empty.
• Fixed a bug that could prevent Windows Explorer libraries from being displayed in the Vegas Pro Explorer after refreshing the Explorer window.
• Fixed a bug that prevented inserting busses, input busses, and assignable effects after opening and closing the Render As window.
• Fixed a bug that could cause the application to freeze when loading thumbnail images in the Project Media window.
• Fixed a bug that could cause the Video Preview window to display red when choosing Clipboard from the Split-Screen View button’s drop-down list.
• Fixed a bug that could cause problems drawing audio peaks or saving files when using Open in Sound Forge or Open Copy in Sound Forge.
• Fixed a bug that could prevent Vegas Pro from starting when using a non-Administrator user account.

Features

• Viewer now scales towards the mouse position, not the center of the Viewer (Active Camera only). This makes it much easier to zoom to the desired area of the screen.
• Option within the Viewer to Billboard Particles in current Orthographic View. This makes working with particle effects such as gunfire far easier.

Improvements

• Contrast & color for some HD videos adjusted to be in line with other video software. You may see some minor differences in appearance with older projects.
• Shatter now retains alpha channel of the source layer without needing a custom pattern.

Fixes

• Removing a Track from the Editor could cause Project corruption in some specific cases. This is no longer the case and updating to this version will fix any previously corrupted projects.
• Atomic Particles Twist Property now works when used on an Intel HD 3000 / 4000.
• Fixed crash when attempting to copy a non-animated Mask Motion Path.
• Removed black line through Text when Shatter 2D Effect is used (Intel HD unaffected by this).
• HitFilm will now decode .MOV files containing 4 Mono Audio Channels.
• Controls Panel now refreshes correctly after pasting 2D effect.
• Importing .ma files with animated focal lengths now works correctly.
• 3D Extrusion now works correctly with images in the ‘Downsample’ view modes.
• Motion Path now updates correctly when adjusting Key Frame values.
• Plus minor fixes.

Sony Creative Software release a new update for Vegas Pro 12 : v12.0 Build 486 64-bit.
A very long list of bugfixes, but also new useful features like the ability to import “Compound Clip” from Final Cut Pro X Projects as Vegas Pro nested projects and, vice versa, export a Vegas Pro project with nested projects in Final Cut Pro X format, transforming nested projects in “Compound Clip“.
Another new feature is the introduction of support for the new  Sony XAVC codec used in new Ultra HD 2K and 4K cameras.

Notable fixes/changes in version 12.0 (Build 486)

• Added support for exporting nested Vegas Pro projects as compound clips when exporting to Final Cut Pro X format.
• Added support for importing compound clips as nested Vegas Pro projects when importing from Final Cut Pro X format.

• When importing a Final Cut Pro X project, a Vegas project is created for the main project using the same base name as the .fcpxml file, and separate nested Vegas projects are created for each compound clip and for each clip that contains an audio and a video stream.
• Added Anchor point setting to the Titles & Text plug-in. Text now scales relative to the anchor point, which does not move.
• Added support for reading and rendering up to 16 channels of audio in HD MXF files.
• Added support for reading Sony XAVC files. You can use the Device Explorer window to browse and import clips from XAVC disc images.
• Added support for timecode in P2 MXF files. If you’re using a project that was created in version 12.0 (build 394) or earlier, please update P2 clip timecode as follows:
  • If you imported the clip from a disc image, right-click the clip in the Project Media window, choose Replace, and then select the clip from the disc image.
  • If you imported the clip using the Vegas Device Explorer, delete the .mxf file from the C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Imported Media\ folder and reimport the clip using the Device Explorer.

• The Documents library and custom libraries from Windows Explorer are now available in the Vegas Pro Explorer.
• File Open dialogs have been updated to allow you to browse and open files from mobile devices.
• Fixed a bug that prevented the Sony Stabilize plug-in from working when 32-bit floating point (video levels) or 32-bit floating point (full range) was selected in the Pixel format drop-down list in the Project Properties dialog.
• Improved performance when using audio preview through SDI video preview devices.
• Fixed a bug that prevented the Sony Stabilize plug-in from being applied during playback.
• Fixed a bug that could cause Vegas Pro to crash when loading some projects.
• Fixed a bug that could reset event effect automation envelopes when splitting events.
